This festival is held every two years, in different regions.

Te Matatini has a big part in showing Maori culture around New Zealand.

 Every year more than 30,000 participants show up.

What I Like About This Song:

I like this song because of how Stan Walker, Ria Hall, Maisey Rika & Troy Kingi collaborate with each other and how their voices match in different ways. Likewise I also really appreciate how they are singing in Maori. Lastly, I admire how people come from different places in New Zealand and join the words Aotearoa, I really liked that. I also like that the tempo was not to fast and to conclude this song is very catchy.

What have you most enjoyed about the musical theatre project?

Combining two classes to do one project & that everyone is performing 

and we don't have to do solos.

What is the most challenging part of the song?

When the tempo of the songs speeds up.

How are you feeling about the performance day?

Very nervous because you have to stand in front of students, teachers & parents. Also not to forget the lyrics for the song.

What can you do to help with your own nerves

on the day of the performance?

When you get on stage always smile to seem like your not nervous.

Reflective Blog Post:

What have I learned?
I learned how to sing with a big audience and 
how to project my voice to the audience evenly.

How does this work show my learning?
The performance shows my learning because what we learned in
rehearsal we showed on the stage and I learned new musicals.

What did I find challenging?
Something I found challenging was standing in front of 
the audience and trying to project my voice loud enough.

What would I do differently if I did this again?
I would pay attention to the teacher so if we were to do this again we would
be able to dance and sing to make the performance more interesting.

What did I enjoy?
I enjoyed learning about different musicals and 
doing little projects along the way.

What am I wondering?
I am wondering if I were to do this again 
what song would I sing too?

What was it like performing on the day?
It was not as scary as I thought to perform in front of that many people.
It was actually alright and everyone performances were so good.

What is the song about?

This song is about thanking Maui a demigod for all that he has done for the food, water, trees & much more.

What is difficult about singing this song?

It's when the rap part comes up, then we have to sing fats and keep on the beat. Also to sing without the lyrics and try
not mess up the words.

How are you feeling about your performance?

Nervous, because I am not as confident.

Mean Girls Summary:
Mean Girls is a musical about high school girls who are not open
other people coming into their group and the effect on other girls.

Dear Evan Hansen: 
This musical is about Evan Hansen a boy in high school who suffers
from a social anxiety disorder, which stops him from making friends or socializing with other people. After the death of his best friend, he tells a lie that brings him closer to his best friends family. While allowing to sense a gain of purpose.

Waitress:
It tells a story of a waitress( Jenna ) in a bad relationship with her husband Earl.
When Jenna surprisingly becomes pregnant she starts an affair with a Doctor and tries to find ways out of the situation. She finds a pie contest with a grand prize.

Dewey Finn an guitarist and a singer who has no job pretends to be a substitute teacher for a prestigious prep school. Seeing the talent in his students he joins a battle of the band's contest.

You need props to make the musical come to life and to make it easier to imagine. You need costumes for the actors and actresses to make them look lifelike. Lighting is used for the stage to make it look breathtaking and to give it effects. Soundcheck is used for the musical to make the musical come to life and make sure nothing is out of tune. Special effects are used for making explosions look real. Scripts are used for the actors and actresses to remember their lines. Make-up again is used for making the actor and actresses look like the characters. Costume designer are their to make sure the costumes fit the actors and nothing is to tight or loose. You need Actors and Actresses for a musical is because they act in the musical.

Live Performance:

What does live performance?

It means people perform live in front of an audience without an stopping.

What could go wrong in a live performance?

People can forget their lines, People can forget their dance moves or trip over.

What do you like about this performance?

I like how they set the background & I like how their dance moves.

My Choice Of A Musical:

•  I like the costumes and props they used.
•  I like the way animals came from the sides of the theater
• I like how all the animals came and  danced on the stage.
