Explain how the point of view in part 2 is different from that in part 1? Do they match up?

This segment of the book is different since is based on Via's perspective. ( August's Older Sister) This is different since it explains her experience with August and the family and how she deals with it. They don't match up because Part 1 was about August's experience.

In at least a paragraph, describe the challenges do you think Via might face being Auggie’s sister?
Via faces a lot of challenges because of Auggie, she doesn't get a lot of attention from her parents, even though her parents say they are really lucky to have her, she really doesn't think so. Quote: "You are the most understanding girl in the world, I don't know about that". Via usually compares her problems with August and knows that her problems can't be as bad as his. In addition, she doesn't get the same treatment as August.

Via says “August is the Sun.” Explain what she means and why she feels this way?

This means everything revolves around August since in space everything orbits around the sun. Via might feel this way because she is either jealous or mad that August is the centre of attention for everything.

Do you agree with Via that she and her parents have made a mistake by always trying to make August feel like he is normal? Is this a problem? Explain.

Yes, because August's parents lose time with Via and miss her special moments such as Plays she might be in, her sports matches and if she needs help with homework, her achievements. They have lost a lot of time making August feel normal and have missed out on Via's achievements.

Why does Via go by Olivia at high school? 
I think because of all the people in her life such as Mum, Dad, Brother or Best friend have called her this. She may want a fresh start in school.

How is Via finding a high school?

I assume she is finding it normal. There have been some good days and some bad days but that's an ordinary life at high school. Her best friend Miranda has not talked to her but she has met Justin a guy that has the same interests as her, so high school might not be so bad. 

What are the odds of Via having a child that looks like August? Do you think these are good odds? Explain.

The odds are 50% because there is no specific answer saying so, or until she has a child which is a long way. Although we are not sure.

Explore the character, Miranda?
Miranda is a character who has a complicated life. She has problems with her friendships and she has a nice, caring and hidden personality. She went camping over the summer and came back with a completely different identity, she has made new friends and Via is finding this hard to understand. I think behind closed doors Miranda might be missing Via.

Why did she call August at the end of Part 2? Explain.

I assume that Miranda might still be missing Via so she did it over the phone, therefore she didn't have to confront her making it awkward.

Describe Via as a character? Do you empathise with her?

Via is a quiet, caring and curious character. She has mostly talked about how hard it is for her being the sister of Auggie and not getting mom or dads attention. In addition, she also talks about her emotions and how nobody understood them and the challenging part of high school. I may empathise with her but I am not completely sure.

What do you think will happen to August when he returns to school?

I think August will pretend as he does not care about the situation and move forward. He will have lunch with summer and possibly might make new friends around the school. But I doubt he will talk to Jack Will or have any contact with him. He'll mostly focus on studies and sooner or later he will find a good best friend.
