Harry Ell is a Christchurch born parliamentarian who also was a city councillor for Christchurch. His full name is Henry George Ell. He is well known for doing conservation workaround the Port Hills in Christchurch. Harry Ell is famous for the walkways in Christchurch and many landmarks such as: The sign of the bellbird, The sign of the kiwi and the Sign of the packhorse. Leave no trace is about caring for the environment and not leaving any rubbish behind which may hurt wildlife. It also talks about not taking anything that's not yours. Leaving only footprints and taking only photos. These are the 7 principles:

  • Plan ahead and prepare. Plan ahead by considering your goals and those of your group. ...
  • Travel and camp on the durable ground. ...
  • Dispose of waste properly. ...
  • Leave what you find. ...
  • Minimise the effects of fire. ...
